CPSAF Scholar-Athlete: U.S. Arrival at Age 14
Introducing Praise, a 15-year-old prodigy from the vibrant yet tumultuous city of Goma, DRC, the youngest among six children. Goma, the capital of North Kivu Province, has a history marked by natural and human-made calamities, from volcanic eruptions to the harrowing Rwandan genocide of 1994, leading to significant regional conflicts. Despite these challenges, Goma remains a city of resilience and recovery, a trait deeply ingrained in Praise.
Praise's culinary preference is Fufu, a testament to his Congolese heritage. Remarkably, he is fluent in seven languages, illustrating his adaptability and intelligence. Praise has set his sights on playing basketball for top-tier universities like Auburn, Kentucky, North Carolina, or Duke, a goal he pursues with determination.
Currently in the 9th grade, Praise has a keen interest in math and science, subjects that fuel his curiosity and passion for learning. With his multifaceted talents and unwavering spirit, Praise embodies the hope and resilience of his hometown, poised to make a mark on the world both academically and athletically.
