Meet Cheick 🇨🇮
Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)
CPSAF Scholar-Athlete: U.S. Arrival at Age 17
Meet Cheick, an 18-year-old emerging basketball talent from the Ivory Coast, a nation celebrated for its picturesque beaches, lush rainforests, and rich French-colonial heritage. Hailing from Abidjan, a vibrant city that beats at the heart of Côte d'Ivoire, Cheick grew up in a bustling household with five brothers and four sisters.
Cheick's culinary preference is simple—chicken, a testament to the comforting meals shared with his large family. His deep respect and love for his parents are palpable; his mother's nurturing care shaped his early years, while his father's encouragement and support spurred Cheick to strive for happiness and improvement in all aspects of life.
In the academic realm, Cheick is drawn to language and history, subjects that allow him to explore the stories and voices of different cultures and times. His aspirations extend to the basketball courts of prestigious universities; DePaul, Gonzaga, and Alabama are the top three colleges where he dreams of showcasing his skills and contributing to their legacy.
Cheick's journey from Abidjan to the potential of playing basketball in the United States is a narrative of ambition, familial love, and the pursuit of excellence, both on the court and in the classroom.
